NEWS FROM OUR DEPARTMENTS
STUDENT LIFE STUDIES (SLS)
Access our new, streamlined project intake form to get your assessment project started! It's never too early to reach out.
What we learned (and did!) from last year's client focus groups: DSA staff appreciate the new report format that puts recommendations up front, the staff expertise, and posting reports on the SLS website. Our staff has been working to decrease the time it takes to write reports, getting results to clients faster, and we are increasing the amount of communication with clients throughout the project.

CORPS OF CADETS
Last weekend, cadets in key leadership positions arrived back on campus. They participated in a four-day retreat with staff in which many great conversations about leading the Corps during COVID took place. Key leaders discussed the way forward for the fall semester openly with staff and developed great ideas to ensure cadets have a positive and safe fall semester.
Freshman Orientation Week started August 11 when we welcomed over 770 new freshman cadets to the Corps! We implemented a new check-in process for all freshmen (and all cadets) to mitigate risk and ensure health and safety related to COVID. All cadets had their temperatures checked prior to exiting their vehicles and completed a screening survey before proceeding through the check-in process.
The culminating event for Freshman Orientation Week, Fish Review, will take place on Simpson Drill Field August 18. Due to COVID-19, guests will not be allowed to observe the review but may watch via livestream on the @aggiecorps and @tamucommandant Facebook pages.
