Thank You for Leading by Example

Campaign donations totaling $72.5 million to the Division of Student Affairs create remarkable opportunities for Texas A&M students

By Dorian Martin '06

The recent Lead by Example campaign proves that the 12th Man is alive, well, and as strong as ever as more than 10,000 gifts worth over $201 million were donated to Texas A&M University’s Division of Student Affairs (DSA), which includes the Corps of Cadets.

The eight-year campaign - the most ambitious higher education capital campaign in Texas history, which ended Dec. 31, 2020 - exceeded the campaign’s overall fundraising goal of $4 billion. Through the generosity of others, a record $4.25 billion was raised by Texas A&M, the Texas A&M Foundation, The Association of Former Students, the 12th Man Foundation, the George & Barbara Bush Foundation, and the Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets Association to support Texas A&M University’s students, faculty, and staff.

Former students, recent graduates, corporations and foundations supported Student Affairs in a variety of ways. These gifts will create and improve leading-edge student programs and services to take the division—already recognized as one of the nation’s best —to the next level. “Every gift from this campaign—both large and small—has made a difference,” said Dr. Daniel J Pugh Sr., Texas A&M’s vice president for student affairs. “Put all together, these funds will help the Division of Student Affairs continue to provide the quality facilities, services and support that Aggies have come to expect and count on.”
